KALU WARNS AGAINST COMPROMISING JAMB'S INTEGRITY THROUGH TECHNICAL LAPSES, HUMAN ERRORS.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has warned that the integrity of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) must not be compromised by technical lapses or human error.

Kalu issued the warning on Sunday in Abuja at a press conference on the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Technical Crisis, attributing the recent technical glitch during the exam to preventable human error within the system, rather than candidate failure or sabotage.

Expressing concern that the incident has shaken public confidence in JAMB, a critical gateway to educational opportunities, he commended JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede for apologizing but noted that it did not erase the trauma experienced by affected candidates and their families.

He, therefore, called for an independent, transparent audit of JAMB's examination infrastructure to scrutinize its Computer-Based Test engine, question delivery, and result collation processes.

The Deputy speaker also recommended implementing stronger deployment validation protocols and real-time monitoring mechanisms to prevent future occurrences and restore faith in the educational system.
