FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has called on the National Assembly to approve the FCT's N1.78 trillion statutory budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year, allocating N1.28 trillion for capital projects and N494.1 billion for recurrent expenditure.

Wike made the call in Abuja on Wednesday during the budget defense before the Senate and House of Representative Committees on FCT, highlighting key allocations, including N919.7 billion for ongoing projects, N80 billion for SUKUK loan projects, and N250 billion for commercial loans to complete capital projects.

In response, the Senate and House of Representatives committees on FCT praised Wike's budget proposal, describing it as "one of the best" due to its focus on capital expenditure, and assuring him of their support, promising to conduct periodic oversight visits to monitor progress.
