TINUBU TO INAUGURATE DISASTER RELIEF FUND COMMITTEE.

President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate the National Disaster Relief Fund Committee on May 13, at the State House Council Chambers in Abuja. 

The committee, chaired by Tony Elumelu, will establish a nationwide framework for disaster response and climate resilience.

Members of the committee include key stakeholders from both public and private sectors, such as governors, ministers, and the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). 

The fund is expected to serve as a central repository for emergency response resources, complementing existing efforts by Nigeria's emergency management agencies.

The establishment of the Disaster Relief Fund is part of the government's efforts to strengthen the nation's ability to respond effectively to climate-related disasters.

 With a broad-based committee, the initiative aims to enhance disaster management and provide support to affected communities.
