TINUBU SEEKS SENATE'S APPROVAL FOR N1.7TRN 2025 FCT BUDGET.

President Bola Tinubu is seeking the Senate’s approval for the FCTA's 2025 Appropriation Bill. 


The president, in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and read during plenary on Wednesday.


According to him, the proposed budget stands at ₦1.783 trillion, prioritizing healthcare, job creation, youth empowerment, social welfare, education, and agriculture.


President Tinubu explained that the budget allocates 85% of capital expenditure to completing ongoing projects and 15% to new capital projects, for the provision of basic infrastructure and social amenities in the FCT.


He added that the breakdown includes ₦150.35 billion for personnel costs, ₦343.78 billion for overhead, and ₦1.29 trillion for capital projects, all aimed at lifting citizens out of poverty and improve living standards in the FCT.
