President Bola Tinubu has granted regulatory approvals for the Kolmani Integrated Development Project, which is a multibillion-dollar oil exploration initiative in Bauchi and Gombe states.
The project is expected to boost oil production, create jobs, and increase national revenue.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, disclosed this at the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy.
Lokpobiri commended Bauchi State for aligning with the Federal Government's energy goals and establishing the academy to develop local capacity for the sector.
The Kolmani Integrated Development Project, which was first inaugurated in November 2022, marking the start of oil exploration in Northern Nigeria, is expected to benefit the region and increase wealth, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited set to resume oil drilling in the oil field.
