TINUBU APPOINTS GOVERNING COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR 3 FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed new members to the governing councils of three federal universities.


A statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, listed the institutions as the University of Abuja, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, noting that the move was made to provide leadership and direction to the universities. 


This follows the dissolution of the University of Abuja's governing council and the removal of its Vice-Chancellor, Aisha Maikudi, in February due to eligibility controversies.


The new appointees for the University of Abuja include Professor Rosemary Egonmwan, Dr. Adedeji Adefuye, Professor Sarki Abdulkadir, and Professor Aminu Dukku, representing different regions. 


For the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; the appointees are Barrister Ogbonna Odo and Muhammad Tahir, while Nnamdi Azikiwe University's new council members include Dr. Nkem Okeke, Ofoke Ugbala, Dame Amina Yakowa, and Nojeeb Agunbiade.
