THREE FEDERAL LAWMAKERS DEFECT FROM PDP TO APC
Three members of the House of Representatives from Katsina State have defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers are Balarabe Dabayi (Bakori/Danja Constituency), Rep. Aliyu Iliyasu (Batsari/Safana/Danmusa Constituency), and Rep. Salisu Majigiri (Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency).
The defection was announced in separate letters read during Thursday’s plenary, by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas.
Thereafter, Abbas formally declared the lawmakers as the newest members of the APC.
The lawmakers cited the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP as the reason for their departure and their defection was witnessed by Katsina State Governor, Umar Dikko Radda, who came to show his solidarity.
