TEENAGE GIRL FAKES HER OWN KIDNAPP FOR RANSOM IN EBONYI - POLICE.

The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed that a16-year-old SS2 student in Abakaliki, faked her own kidnapping and demanded a ₦2 million ransom from her family. 

 A statement by the command spokesman, Joshua Ukandu, said the police discovered the hoax after tracking the phone used to send the ransom demand.

According to the police, the girl, who claimed to have been kidnapped, although investigations revealed she had orchestrated the plot with a family friend, would often dream about being kidnapped, and her mother would pray against it, which might have influenced her actions.

Ukandu said the police have launched a full investigation, and the girl has been reunited with her family, while the case remains under investigation due to her age.
