The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Adebo Ogundoyin, has called for partnership between the National Assembly and state legislatures to address insecurity and economic challenges in the country.

Ogundoyin made the call on Monday in Abuja at the opening of a day national dialogue on the 10th House Legislative Agenda, organized to mark the second anniversary of the house, stressing the need for collaboration to align federal and state policies, promote inclusive governance, and ensure legislative actions meet the diverse needs of Nigerians.

He identified key areas for collaboration, including youth empowerment, support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), agricultural development, food security, and digital economy promotion.

Ogundoyin also stressed the need for proactive security measures, including enacting laws to strengthen security agencies and promote community-based policing.

The Conference of Speakers also announced plans to work with the National Assembly to create meaningful economic opportunities, address youth unemployment, and tackle the root causes of crime and instability.
