SENATE COMMITTEE VISITS PILGRIM'S HOTEL AFFECTED BY FIRE.
The Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for its swift response in rescuing Nigerian pilgrims from a hotel fire in Makkah.
During the visit to the site of the incident, the committee members, led by Senator Ali Ndume, were briefed by NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman, on the incident and the measures taken to address the situation.
They commended NAHCON's efforts in relocating the affected pilgrims, expressing gratitude for the commission's leadership and thanking Allah that no lives were lost in the fire.
The lawmakers also directed NAHCON to prepare a report on the incident to help the pilgrims obtain police reports and new copies of their lost documents upon return to Nigeria.
