SECURITY OPERATIVES UNCOVER ILLEGAL REFINERY IN ANAMBRA.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has uncovered an illegal artisanal refinery and petrol station in Anambra State. 

 NSCDC State Commandant, Olatunde Maku, confirmed in a statement issued in Awka on Sunday by the Head of Media, Edwin Okadigbo, that the operation was conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and Navy at Y-Junction, Nkwelle Ezunaka.

Okadigbo revealed that about 9 kegs of suspected adulterated Automotive Gas Oil, four 200-liter drums of suspected adulterated Premium Motor Spirit, and a pumping machine, were recovered from the suspects, adding that one of the suspect was arrested, while others fled the scene.

Warning operators of illegal oil refineries and individuals impersonating PROTEAN personnel to stay away from Anambra State, he assured that thorough investigations would be carried out, and the suspect with the accomplices would be brought to justice in court.
