SARAKI HEADS 7-MEMBER PDP RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE.
The People’s Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) and former governors have set up a seven-member reconciliation committee to be chaired by former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
This was announced on Sunday night by the chairman of the Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
The committee has been mandated to reconcile aggrieved members ahead of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on May 27 and the forthcoming national convention in August.
The committee members include Governors Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Caleb Muftwang of Plateau, and Peter Mba of Enugu State, as well as Senator Seriake Dickson, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, and former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The committee was established to address internal party issues and ensure a smooth NEC meeting and convention.
Governor Mohammed emphasized the party's commitment to unity and strengthening its structures.
He also expressed confidence that the party would reclaim its states and produce governors in the future, despite recent defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
