RUSSIA DECLARES READIINESS TO DEEPEN TRADE COOPERATION WITH NIGERIA.

Russia has expressed readiness to help Nigeria deepen trade cooperation between the two countries. 


Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, Andrey Podelyshev, stated this while briefing journalists in Abuja ahead of Russia Day celebrations on June 12, highlighting his country’s economic potential and advantages in sectors like space exploration, aircraft engineering, automobile manufacturing, and agriculture.


The envoy noted that Russia's economy is characterized by dynamic growth, with a nominal GDP exceeding $2.5 trillion and foreign trade turnover estimated at $717 billion in 2024, emphasizing his country's expertise in various industries, including space exploration, nuclear energy, oil production, and artificial intelligence.


Expressing the Russian embassy's willingness to assist Nigerian businesses in establishing contacts with Russian companies, particularly in priority areas like economic and technological sectors, he highlighted the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between Nigeria and Russia.
