The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has announced that before May 25, President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate a portion of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, including over 30 kilometers of Section One, which is more than 70% completed, and an additional 10 kilometers of Section Two.
Umahi announced this after the fifth Federal Executive Council meeting, stating that the project has undergone international review and all parties are satisfied with its content and character.
He noted that the loan component of the project was reviewed by Deutsche Bank and the Development Bank of South Africa, which concluded that the procurement process was excellent.
The minister also revealed that 10 kilometers of the Sokoto-Badagry road project, being completed with concrete at the Kebbi axis, would also be inaugurated by President Tinubu before May 25, as part of the government's efforts to improve Nigeria's infrastructure and boost economic growth.
