The Niger State Police Command has arrested seven robbery suspects in connection with a May 1 incident at APC quarters in Suleja.
The Command’s spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement on Tuesday, said the suspects, all from the Galadima area of the FCT, were part of a 13-member syndicate, adding that one of the suspects, 16-year-old Mubarak Mohammed, was arrested at the scene and later led the police to the arrest of the other six members.
Abiodun said the police recovered six cutlasses, three torchlights, charms, 14 handsets, and four bags from the suspects' hideout.
The spokesman said the suspects are under investigation and they will be transferred to State CID Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
In a separate incident, Abiodun said the police, along with vigilante members, rescued seven kidnapped victims on May 3, in Mashegu, and one of the kidnappers, Garba Mohammed, was shot dead, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
