OKPEBHOLO URGES IGHODALO TO ACCEPT APPEAL COURT VERDICT, EMBRACE UNITY.
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has called the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, to accept the Court of Appeal judgment affirming his electoral victory.
The court, in a judgment delivered on Thursday by a three-member panel led by Justice Mohammed Danjuma, upheld the earlier tribunal ruling, validating Okpebholo's mandate.
Reacting to the judgment, the governor, while calling on Ighodalo to embrace unity for the progress of the state, urged him and the opposition to reflect on the judgment and prioritize the state's development over partisan interests.
Praising the judiciary's integrity, describing the ruling as a victory not just for the APC but for democracy and the rule of law in Edo, he reaffirmed his commitment to his people-first agenda, focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
He also called on citizens to remain peaceful and law-abiding, promising that his administration would intensify people-centered development programs with renewed energy, serving all Edo residents without exception or discrimination.
