NUJ to amplify children’s voices, protect their rights,

The Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has pledged to amplify children's voices to protect their rights. 

The union's Secretary, Aisha Ahmed, made the pledge during the 2025 Children's Day celebration, stressing the need to safeguard children's futures.

Highlighting the vulnerability of children to abuse, exploitation, and neglect, Ahmed urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children's activities. 

She stressed the importance of reporting child abuse cases to authorities, rather than covering them up.

Reaffirming its commitment to using the media to expose abuse and promote policies protecting children's rights, the NUJ called on stakeholders to collaborate in creating a safe environment for children to grow with dignity and peace.
