The Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has warned its personnel against accidental discharge after undergoing arms training.

The State Commandant, Francis Nnadi, gave the warning on Wednesday in Abakaliki while addressing a guard of honour mounted for him by the 83 personnel, emphasizing the importance of discipline and vigilance, saying the command is working to secure critical infrastructure, including the Chuba Okadigbo Airport in Onueke.

Nnadi explained that the training will help personnel effectively tackle security challenges, as criminals and non-state actors are also upgrading their skills.

He expressed satisfaction with the skills displayed by the trainees, who had earlier undergone Special Forces and counter-terrorism training.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Richard Idike, congratulated the trainees, urging them to apply their skills to combat rising criminal activities in the state.
