The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has called for collaborative efforts to prevent and counter the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by terrorist groups in West Africa.

He emphasized that terrorism knows no bounds, therefore, it can only be effectively confronted through collective efforts by critical stakeholders.

Ribadu made the call at the Stakeholders’ meeting on consolidating collaborative efforts to prevent and counter the acquisition and use of IED by Terrorists’ Groups in West Africa.

The meeting was convened to develop effective mechanisms to enhance the ability to prevent and counter IED use, sharing knowledge, best practices, and experiences in addressing IED threats.

At the meeting, International partners, including the German and Algerian ambassadors, highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach, under African leadership, accompanied by international support, and based on the rule of law and human rights, to successfully address the terrorist threat in the region.
