NORTHERN GOVERNORS CALL FOR ACCELERATED ACTION TO CURB INSECURITY.

The Northern Governors' Forum has called for urgent action to address security challenges in the region. 

In a communique issued after a meeting held in Kaduna over the weekend, the 19 northern governors and traditional rulers’ council chairmen expressed their commitment to tackling security issues.

The forum commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in addressing security challenges and infrastructure deficits in Northern Nigeria.

They also resolved to increase support to federal security agencies, strengthen local initiatives, and set up inter-state platforms to coordinate border surveillance.

The forum also endorsed the creation of State Police and urged the National Assembly to expedite action on the legal framework.
