Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 3.5 million pills of opioids and 163,000 bottles of codeine syrup worth over N3.4 billion in Rivers and Lagos states.
NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the seizures were made in several operations, including a joint examination of a container at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex.
Babafemi revealed that the NDLEA operatives arrested several suspects in Lagos, including one attempting to smuggle tramadol to Italy.
He noted that the NDLEA has arrested several suspects in connection with the seizures and it would continue to work to disrupt drug trafficking networks.
