The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has secured four convictions in one day, with a Federal High Court in Kano sentencing the offenders to imprisonment.
This was contained in a statement by the command spokesman, Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari, noting that the convictions were secured on May 12.
Muhammad-Maigatari revealed that the convicted individuals were found guilty of possessing various quantities of cannabis and tramadol.
He added that the sentences range from 8 to 9 years imprisonment without option of fine.
The NDLEA Commander in Kano, Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, commended the judiciary for its decisive action and reiterated the agency's commitment to building a safer, drug-free Nigeria under the leadership of retired Brigadier General Mohammed Marwa.
