Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) along the Suleja-Kaduna Road have intercepted a fuel truck and three other vehicles carrying 246 bags of skunk weighing 3,047 kilograms.
This was contained in a statement on Sunday by NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, noting that four suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.
In other operations, Babafemi revealed that NDLEA operatives seized 109,914 pills of tramadol, swinol, and nitrazepam in Lagos, 505kg of skunk in Bauchi, and 775 litres of codeine syrup in Kano.
He added other seizures include 52.5kg of skunk in Kaduna and 45,400 pills of tramadol in Kwara.
Commending the officers from various commands for their outstanding efforts in the week's operations, NDLEA Chairman, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, reaffirmed the agency's commitment to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
