The Nigerian Navy's Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos has deactivated six illegal refining sites at Obodo Omadina Community in Delta State.
The sites were discovered and dismantled in three separate operations following credible intelligence.
According to the Commanding Officer, Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, the operations led to the seizure of approximately 8,660 litres of stolen crude oil and 1,005 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
Okoloagu disclosed the products were stored in ovens, dug-out pits, and polythene sacks.
He warned perpetrators to desist from the illegalities, reaffirming the Base's commitment to frustrating the activities of economic saboteurs as part of Operation Delta Sanity II.
