Maryam Abacha, the widow of former military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, has denied allegations that her husband looted billions of dollars during his rule. 

She recently questioned the basis of these claims, asking for evidence or witnesses to support the accusations, and also criticized the continued focus on her husband's legacy nearly three decades after his death, suggesting that Nigerians should move beyond ethnic and religious biases and work towards unity. 

Emphasizing that her husband's regime brought relative economic stability to Nigeria, with increased foreign reserves and reduced external debt, she called for an end to what she described as "wahala" (trouble) and urged Nigerians to recognize the importance of every individual in the country. 

She stated that no single person, including her husband or other notable figures, is solely responsible for Nigeria's progress, and that unity and mutual respect are essential for the country's well-being.
