Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) have recovered three dead bodies from a two-storey building under construction which collapsed at Ikorodu area of the state on Tuesday.
The victims, comprising two adult males and a teenage girl, were reportedly part of a construction team working on the ground floor of the two-storey building under construction.
Emergency officials were said to have responded promptly to the incident, rescuing nine adult males and providing medical attention.
LASEMA's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident and assured that investigations would be conducted to determine the cause of the structural failure.
Oke-Osanyintolu revealed that the agency's teams worked through the night to recover the bodies of the deceased, which were later handed over to the Igbogbo Police Division for investigation.
Meanwhile, the cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, and authorities have cordoned off the area.
