LAGOS PDP SPOKESMAN AND OTHER LEADERS DEFECT TO APC.
The spokesman of the Lagos State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hakeem Amode, has defected alongside other leaders of the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Citing poor leadership and disunity within the PDP as reasons for their decision. Amode stated that the party has lost its way and deviated from its founding ideals.
The defectors, including former PDP candidates and executives, announced their resignation from the party and immediately declared their alignment with the APC.
The 2023 governorship candidate of the Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), who had earlier defected to APC, congratulated the defectors and described the PDP as a "sinking ship".
The defection marks a significant blow to the PDP in Lagos State, with several key leaders and candidates joining the APC, while the defectors expressed their commitment to working with the APC to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Lagos State.
