
JUST IN:RESIGNATIONS ROCK ONDO STATE ASSEMBLY AS DEPUTY SPEAKER, MAJORITY LEADER STEP DOWN
The Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Abayomi Akinruntan, and the Majority Leader, Mr. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, have officially resigned from their positions.
Akinruntan, who represents Ilaje Constituency 1, and Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo Constituency 1, are both members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Their resignations were announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Olamide Oladiji.
Akinruntan explained that his decision to step down was based on ongoing political power-sharing arrangements within the state.
Following the resignations, Mr. Ololade Gbegudu, who represents Okitipupa Constituency 2, was named the new Deputy Speaker. Meanwhile, Mr. Olatunji Oshati of Ose Constituency has been appointed as the new Majority Leader.
