IMO POLICE DISMISSES REPORT ON MISSING UTME CANDIDATES.

1 min read

The Imo State Police Command has clarified that 15 candidates who sat for their rescheduled UTME in the state were not abducted, but rather stranded due to a mechanical failure of their school bus and poor network coverage in the area, thereby leading to a communication gap, sparking speculation about their safety.

A statement by the command spokesman, Henry Okoye, confirmed that the students, who safely sat for their exams, were later located by the police and sister security agencies after their bus broke down.

Okoye added that they were escorted to Owerri, where arrangements were made to repair the bus, after which they continued their journey back to Onitsha.

Commending the public for showing concern and bringing the report to their notice, Okoye assured that the students were safe throughout the ordeal.
