Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that he is not desperate to return to office.
Speaking at a service honoring late elder statesman Edwin Clark, Fubara said his spirit had "already left that place long ago," suggesting he has moved on.
Fubara's comments come amid calls for his return to office, with some speakers at the event referring to him as "Governor" and urging his reversal. However, Fubara advised attendees to focus on paying tribute to Clark's legacy rather than politics.
Fubara was suspended by President Tinubu, who appointed a sole administrator to oversee the state.
