GUNMEN HIJACK FULLY LOADED VEHICLE, KILL DRIVER, ABDUCT PASSENGERS IN BENUE STATE.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have allegedly abducted passengers and killed the driver of a commercial vehicle along the Otukpo-Adoka road in Benue State. 

The incident was said to have occurred around 11pm on Sunday as the vehicle was traveling from Abuja to Otukpo and the attackers opened fire, causing the driver to lose control and crash into nearby bushes, after which the passengers were abducted, while the driver's body was later recovered and taken to his hometown.

Military personnel have launched a manhunt for the attackers, who fled the scene after abducting the passengers and the motive behind the attack is yet to be confirmed, although the incident has raised concerns about security in the region, while efforts are underway to rescue the abducted passengers.
