FIVE NIGERIAN AFROBEATS STARS NOMINATED FOR BET AWARDS.
The list of nominees for the 2025 BET Awards have been announced, with five Nigerian Afrobeats stars, Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Ayra Starr, and Shallipopi, inclusive.
On the list, Ayra Starr is leading with three nominations of Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best New Artist, and Best International Act, while Tems received two nominations in the BET Her category for her empowering songs "Burning" and "Hold On."
Also, Burna Boy, Rema, and Shallipopi each received one nomination, with Burna Boy being nominated for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Rema for Best International Act, and Shallipopi for Best New International Act.
Meanwhile, American rapper, Kendrick Lamar, tops the nominations with 10 , followed by Drake, Future, Doechii, and GloRilla, who each have six nominations.
The winners will be announced during the live ceremony on June 9 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, broadcast on BET.
