
FG SEEKS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION FOR CREATIVE.
Nigeria's Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has announced plans to establish Intellectual Property Protection to safeguard Nigerian creatives.
This move aims to promote economic growth and job creation. Musawa stated that the ministry has initiated policies on intellectual property and creative economy, which will be presented to the National Executive Council soon.
The minister emphasized the importance of soft power in attracting investments, highlighting the ministry's Destination 2030 initiative to leverage Nigeria's content, speed, and talent to promote tourism.
Musawa noted that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is working towards making Nigeria a top tourism destination.
The minister's remarks were made during a panel session at the 68 CAF UN Tourism Commission for Africa, which focused on boosting social impact and education in tourism through innovation, AI, and creative industries in Africa.
