FG ANNOUNCES TOLLING ON LAGOS-CALABAR HIGHWAY STARTING DECEMBER.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has announced that a section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be tolled from December, saying he expects a 10-year return on investment, citing the road's modern infrastructure, including solar-powered lighting and CCTV.


Umahi highlighted the project's benefits, describing it as an "economic corridor" and a "catalyst for regional growth," acknowledging the positive response from local communities, indicating the project's transformative impact.


The minister also mentioned ongoing construction on other sections of the highway and expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's re-election prospects.


He further acknowledged support from South-East governors, with plans for a political summit to unite regional leaders behind the president's second-term bid.
