The FCT Administration has ordered the demolition of 24 two-storey buildings constructed on a waterway in Guzape District, Abuja, due to lack of necessary approvals.
The Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Felix Obuah, issued the directive during an inspection tour of various parts of Abuja on Monday, alongside other council officials.
According to him, the structures were developed by Cityscape Estate on Plot 4851 in violation of planning regulations.
Obuah disclosed that the council had mobilized equipment for demolition but later granted a two-week grace period for the developer to voluntarily remove the illegal structures.
He warned that failure to comply will lead to a full-scale demolition and a further negligence or sabotage by its officers will result in a disciplinary action.
