The FCT Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Grace Ike, has called on journalists to defend press freedom and fight for fair treatment.
Ike Grace made the call at the Eagle Square on Thursday in commemoration of the 2025 Workers' Day, stressing the need to protect civic space and boost workers' welfare.
She commended Nigerian workers for their resilience and called for greater press freedom and better conditions for journalists.
Ike highlighted the media's vital role in holding leaders accountable and protecting vulnerable voices, while urging the government and employers to protect workers' freedoms, invest in their welfare, and turn sacrifices into progress for the country.
