FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is enroute to China to finalize the process of constructing a water supply project for satellite towns in the nation’s capital.
This was contained in a statement by the Minister’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, noting that the project stems from a Memorandum of Understanding signed between President Bola Tinubu and Chinese companies in September 2024.
Olayinka said the agreement aims to improve electricity and water supply in FCT satellite towns, including Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Kuje area councils, adding that President Tinubu has approved ₦50 billion for the provision of portable water in these areas.
He further said that Wike's trip to China will focus on discussions with the China Geo-Engineering Corporation Overseas Construction Group to move the project forward.
