
DEMOLITION: KEBBI GOVT COMPENSATES JEGA RESIDENTS WITH N1.5B.
The Kebbi State Government has paid N1.5 billion in compensation to 236 property owners affected by the construction of a dual carriageway in Jega town.
The payment was made to owners of buildings marked for demolition to pave way for the road project, with the beneficiaries being given cheques based on the valuation of their properties.
According to the Chairman of the Compensation Committee, Aliyu Maude, the affected individuals have been given two months to vacate their properties.
Speaking on the development, the Emir of Jega, Muhammad Arzika-Bawa, urged residents to cooperate with the authorities to ensure a peaceful execution of the project.
