BORNO GOVERNMENT ISSUES STAY AT HOME ORDER

1 min read

The Borno State Government has issued a stay-at-home directive to residents of Maiduguri following a series of overnight explosions at Giwa Barracks that caused widespread panic in the city.

Deputy Governor Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur urged citizens to remain calm and indoors while security and emergency officials work to manage the situation.

He clarified that the explosions were due to a fire outbreak in the armoury section of the military facility, not a terrorist attack as initially feared.

Dr. Kadafur assured the public that the situation is under control and called for patience and cooperation as authorities assess the damage and restore.
