Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has announced a review of counter-insurgency strategies in collaboration with the Federal Government to address the recent surge in attacks across the state.
Governor Zulum announced this over the weekend, reaffirming his administration's commitment to strengthening local security architecture, improving intelligence gathering, and providing security personnel with necessary tools.
The governor highlighted the importance of reinforcing volunteer forces and community-based intelligence networks, while warning against colluding with armed groups and calling on citizens to support peace building efforts.
Also addressing other pressing issues, including water scarcity in Maiduguri and rising criminal activities, announcing the reconstitution of the Anti-Social Vices Committee to curb these issues, he called for a voluntary fast to seek divine intervention for peace and stability in the state.
