Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the arrest and detention of social media activist, VeryDarkMan, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Atiku accused the federal government of using security agencies to suppress dissent and intimidate critics, claiming that the arrest is a blatant abuse of power and a violation of Otse's constitutional rights.
He warned against normalizing "state-sponsored repression" and also called for resistance against the administration's actions.
Atiku also accused the government of applying double standards in handling corruption allegations, targeting dissenters while giving immunity to loyalists with credible allegations of corruption, describing the government’s actions as "disgraceful" and an affront to democratic norms.
