
AIYEDATIWA URGES NIGERIANS TO SUPPORT LEADERS WHO UPHOLD ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on Nigerians to rededicate themselves to democratic ideals by supporting leaders who prioritize accountability, transparency, and people-first governance.
Speaking during the Democracy Day celebration in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa paid tribute to late MKO Abiola, who sacrificed his life for democracy, and other key figures in the struggle, he highlighted Nigeria's progress since returning to civil rule in 1999, noting significant strides in consolidating democratic institutions and promoting citizen freedoms.
He urged citizens to strive for a better Nigeria, celebrating diversity and ensuring democracy serves as a beacon of hope.
Also speaking, Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, who was represented by Ondo State Attorney General, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, described June 12 as a symbol of sacrifice, resilience, and hope.
Senator Bamidele linked the achievement of President Bola Tinubu's administration l to the June 12 struggle legacy, citing economic reforms, infrastructure development, and improved governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
