ACCIDENT CLAIMS 7, INJURES 16 IN NIGER - NSEMA

An accident along the Agaie-Badegi Road in Niger State has left 7 persons dead, with 16 others injured. 


The accident reportedly involved an articulated vehicle carrying Federal Government grains and 36 male passengers from Lagos to Kano.


The Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Abdullahi Baba-Arah, attributed the accident to a bad portion of the road. 


Baba-Arah said the agency carried out search and rescue operations, while the injured passengers were taken to nearby health centers.


He noted that some of the injured sustained serious injuries, while others had minor injuries, adding that most of the deceased have been taken away by their relatives.
