The Abia Government is set to host the Turkey-Abia Investment Summit and Exhibition to attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and boost international trade.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnerships, Dr Green Amakwe, who disclosed this at a news briefing in Umuahia on Wednesday, said that the event would focus on a multi-faceted investment promotion drive to strengthen economic relations with Turkey and other key partners.
Amakwe explained that the event aims to promote Abia as a preferred investment destination in Nigeria and Africa, focusing on sectors like agriculture, textiles, energy, and infrastructure.
He further said that the summit will position Abia as a hub for export-oriented and industrial investments, targeting high-potential areas to drive inclusive economic growth and job creation.
According to him, the government plans to foster bilateral cooperation with Turkish investors, leveraging strong diplomatic relations and the positive perception of Turkish products among Nigerians.
Amakwe said the event, scheduled for November 25-27, is expected to create a new economic identity for Abia, one that is competitive, reliable, and investor-friendly, and to attract sustainable investments that will drive economic growth.
