The Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, disclosed that the Ministry of Women Affairs has built 60 processing sites under its Livelihood Collective Project, including garri and oil palm processing centers in Isiala Ngwa North, Obingwa, and Ohafia Local Government Areas.
Kanu explained that the purpose of these projects is to improve rural economies and enhance women's participation in the agricultural value chain.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering women through projects that will help pull many Abians out of poverty and support women's economic development.
The commissioner further said that the government has partnered with the Bank of Industry to establish a N5 billion SME fund, with N2 billion paid as counterpart fund and N3 billion to be provided by the bank.
