
WIKE SEEKS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY'S INTERVENTION OVER TEACHER'S STRIKE.
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on the National Assembly to pay closer attention to the activities of FCT area councils, following the ongoing strike by primary school teachers in the territory over unpaid allowances and entitlements.
The minister, who made the call on Thursday, expressed concern over the impact of the strike on education in the FCT, urging the House of Representatives Committee on FCT Area Council and Ancillary Matters to intervene and resolve the issue.
Stressing the need for the committee to carry out oversight on the activities of the area councils,Wike promised to do everything possible to get the teachers back to the classrooms, assuring that the issue would be resolved soon.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the children in the FCT receive the education they deserve, assuring that the teachers' concerns would be addressed.
