Tunisian President, Kais Saied, has vowed to combat all forms of crime, particularly drug trafficking, which threatens the country's security and stability.
The president made the remarks during a meeting with Interior Minister Khaled Nouri and Secretary of State for National Security, Sofiene Bessadok, noting that the government has taken a strong stance against drug trafficking, with recent nationwide operations leading to the arrest of hundreds of suspects.
He revealed that customs authorities have also seized significant quantities of narcotics, including 122,500 pills, 113 kilograms of cannabis, and 13 kilograms of cocaine since the beginning of 2025.
Warning that those undermining Tunisia's security also jeopardize societal safety, President Saied reaffirmed the government's commitment to fighting crime and ensuring public safety.
