The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated Nigerian Muslims on the commencement of Dhul-Hijjah, which is a sacred month in the Islamic calendar.
The Sultan, in a statement issued in Kaduna on Wednesday by the Secretary-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Professor Khalid Aliyu, urged Muslims to take advantage of the opportunity to perform righteous acts, seek forgiveness, and pray for the nation's challenges.
Recommending various acts of worship, including constant remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Quran, kindness to relatives, and sharing with the poor and needy, he emphasize the superiority of performing good deeds during these days, which are considered more beloved to Allah than any other days.
The Sultan also wished pilgrims a successful and hitch-free Hajj, praying for their safe return to their families, and also wished the Muslim Ummah an accepted sacrifice and peaceful Eid-el-Adhaa celebrations, which will be marked on June 6.
