
SIX COUNTRIES QUALIFY FOR THE AFCON UNDER-20 QUARTER-FINAL.
At least six countries have qualified for this year’s 2025 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final stage in Egypt, following the conclusion of Thursday’s group stage fixtures.
During the games, Senegal defeated DR Congo 2-0, while Ghana won 1-0 against Central African Republic, with the Flying Eagles of Nigeria playing a 2-2 draw with Kenya and Morocco defeating fellow North Africans Tunisia 3-1 to advance to the last-8.
Consequently,the six countries that have qualified for the quarter-final stage are Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Sierra Leone and DR Congo, while the remaining two countries that will join them in the last-8 will be determined on Friday.
Tanzania will face Egypt, while South Africa will tackle Zambia.
Thereafter, the winners will qualify for the quarter-final which will commence on Monday.
