
NNL SANCTIONS AKPABIO FC, BARAU FC FOR HOOLIGANISM.
The Nigeria National League (NNL) has handed out penalties to two clubs for misconduct.
Godswill Akpabio FC was fined N3 million for assaulting and intimidating match officials during a match against Rovers FC and the Uyo Township Stadium, where the team plays its home games, has been ordered to be closed to fans for the rest of the season.
In a separate ruling, Barau FC was fined N2 million for failing to control its fans during a match against Gombe United, as the fans threw objects at the opponents' technical area, causing injuries and a 15-minute match abandonment.
Barau FC was also ordered to pay N150,000 for medical expenses and play its home matches behind closed doors for the rest of the campaign.
